Gwen Shoemaker

Gwen Shoemaker is a Wedding, Lifestyle and Brand photographer from Bend, Oregon. Her work is stunning. Admittedly she has the advantage of living a short drive/hike away from some of the most amazing landscapes, but her work is so… cool! When we first met her, she was super chilled and very open to suggestions. The brief was to migrate her existing site from FloThemes to Kadence and refresh the design whilst doing so.

She let us have the freedom to really go to town! She had a great brand already and a really solid brand guideline document. The content was there, so we had the time to really play with the layout and make something a little different. Our Creative Director (Dave. Me) has a lot of experience in magazine publishing in London, working for some very well-known titles and this project felt like the layout shout be a bit more like a book of Gwen’s amazing photography, rather than a hi-tech, Webflow style agency site. I think we pulled it off.

The project lasted a little under 4 weeks, and already the page ranking for the site has shot up and the load speed and performance aren’t hindered by the elements in the build. It also looks really cool on mobile devices!

I’ve since visited the site and noticed that Gwen has changed a lot of the images and text elements… and it looks great. Every site owner should be able to edit and update their own site without the help of the designer… We’re always here to fix any snagging issues immediately and we like to maintain a great working relationship with our clients.
